New Delhi: As the economic blockade enters its 100th day, senior BJP leaders will on Tuesday leave for Manipur to monitor the ongoing crisis in the state.
BJP leaders Yashwant Sinha, Prakash Javadekar and Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, will be leaving for Manipur. They will be meeting locals and interact with them on the ongoing crisis. The BJP team will spend three days in the state.
Meanwhile, there is no change in the status of the economic blockade in Manipur.
Fuel tanks in the state are running dry and prices of essential commodities are shooting through the roof.
It is the 100th day of the economic blockade and Manipur is desperate. The state has fuel only for a day. Close to 100 trucks are stranded at national highway 37 because of a broken bridge. The other highways are blocked by the United Naga council supporters. They are opposing the formation of a separate Kuki dominated Sadr Hills district. The state government has released its last stock of fuel supply on Saturday.
