Congress to release poll manifesto by March end

New Delhi: Congress on Thursday said its manifesto for Lok Sabha elections will be released around March 22-23.

The slogans of the party for the elections are also likely to be released simultaneously with the manifesto, Congress Media Department chief M Veerappa Moily said in New Delhi.

Seeking to cash in on Oscar-winning song Jai Ho, Congress will release its jingle to woo voters in Lok Sabha elections.

The jingle, which will have the achievements of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government in the lyrics, will be extensively used.

While the music will be the same, the lyrics have been coined to focus on policies and programmes of UPA government and its achievements on various fronts.

The All India Congress Committtee (AICC) has bought the copyright of Jai Ho from music company T-Series.

Moily said an advertisement agency has prepared the jingle for the party.
