'Don't Want Congress To Put Babri Lock On Ram Temple': PM Modi Makes A Fresh '400 Paar' Pitch
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also hit out at Congress for "anti-national" statements made by the leaders of the party and INDI alliance.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi sharpened his attack on the Congress on Tuesday, a day after an expelled leader of the opposition party claimed that Rahul Gandhi had plans to overturn the Supreme Court’s decision on the Ram Mandir. During a speech in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar, PM Modi said he wants the BJP-led NDA to win 400 seats just to ensure the Congress does not bring back Article 370 in Kashmir and put a “Babri lock” on the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

“It is important for the country’s people to know the BJP-led NDA already has 400-plus seats in Parliament. We used this number to scrap Article 370,” the PM said.

“Modi wants 400 seats so that Congress won’t bring back Article 370 to spoil the game, Modi wants 400 seats so that the Congress won’t put a Babri lock on the Ram temple in Ayodhya,” he added.

The PM said that about 14 days back, he challenged the Congress to give in writing to the country’s 140 crore people that it will not give reservation on the basis of religion.

In another rally in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone, PM Modi said that the Congress’s intentions were dangerous.

“How terrible are the intentions of Congress, how dangerous are its conspiracies. To understand this, you have to listen to the people who have been Congress workers and leaders for 20-20, 25-25 years and now these people are suddenly leaving the Congress. A woman said that when she went to Ram Mandir, she was tortured so much that she had to leave the Congress. Another person said that ‘Congress has been taken over by Muslim Leaguers and Maoists.’ The third one revealed another deep conspiracy, saying that ‘the Congress prince intends to overturn the Supreme Court’s decision on Ram temple’,” PM Modi said.

On Monday, former Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam had claimed that shortly after the Supreme Court’s verdict on the Ramjanmabhoomi case, Rahul Gandhi had suggested that his party would “overturn the directive regarding the Ram temple once the Congress government comes into power”.

“I have spent more than 32 years in the Congress and when the Ram Mandir decision came, Rahul Gandhi in a meeting with his close aides said that after the Congress govt is formed, they will form a superpower commission and will overturn the Ram Mandir decision just like Rajiv Gandhi overturned the Shah Bano decision…” Pramod Krishnam said.

He also referred to Radhika Khera, who quit the Congress party, claiming that people in the party “started hating” her after her visit to Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

‘Why Does Congress Love Pakistan?’

The Prime Minister also came down heavily on the Congress for “love for Pakistan.” He said there was a competition within the Congress for making anti-national statements.

Referring to former Punjab chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s remark on Poonch terror attack, PM Modi said. “After every phase of voting, Congress’s love for Pakistan is reaching its peak. A former Congress CM said that our army carries out terror attacks, Pakistan is innocent.”

“These are all stunts and not terrorist attacks. These are nothing but BJP’s pre-poll stunt. There is no truth in it. BJP is playing with people’s lives and bodies,” Channi had said on Sunday after the recent terror attack on an Indian Air Force (IAF) convoy in Poonch.

“Look at the shamelessness of another big Congress leader, he said that Pakistan had no role in the Mumbai terror attack,” PM Modi added.

This came a day after Congress leader Vijay Varithawar claimed that the bullet that killed IBS officer Hemant Karkare during the Mumbai 26/11 attack was “not fired by Pakistani terrorists, but by a police officer associated with the RSS.” He accused Ujjwal Nikam, the special public prosecutor in the case and now BJP Lok Sabha candidate, of suppressing this information.

PM Modi also hit out at Farooq Abdullah saying, “Another leader of Congress’s ally party threatens India…says Pakistan is not wearing bangles.”

Responding to Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s remark, “PoK will be merged with India,” Abdullah had said, “Pakistan is not wearing bangles and also has atom bombs that will fall on India.”
