GoM likely to finalise a draft on Telangana today
According to sources, the Central government is expected to table the bill in the winter session of Parliament.

New Delhi: The Group of Ministers (GoM) are likely to finalise a draft on the formation of Telangana on Thursday. As per Article 3 of the Constitution, the draft bill will there after be sent to the Union Cabinet for approval and eventually to the President for approval.

According to sources, the central government will table the bill in the winter session of Parliament and it is expected that President Pranab Mukherjee will refer to the bill by the end of the month.

On Monday, the GoM headed by the Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, had completed the process of consultations with central ministers from Telangana and Seemandhra and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.

They asked the Centre to implement the Congress Working Committee (CWC) resolution on Telangana. They also urged the Centre to go ahead with the creation of Telangana and make Hyderabad its unconditional capital.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Jaipal Reddy had said "we don't want the Centre to impose too many conditions. We are okay with Hyderabad as a joint capital for 10 years. The article 371 should continue. It enables the people in Telangana to get government jobs etc".

The GoM has already met all political parties from Andhra Pradesh.
