The NCP has announced it will go it alone in Gujarat this Lok Sabha elections as Congress has refused to share seats with it.
New Delhi: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has announced it will go it alone in Gujarat this Lok Sabha elections as its ally, the Congress, has refused to share seats with it.
"The NCP will field candidates for all 26 Lok Sabha seats from Gujarat. Congress has not agreed to seat-sharing with us in Gujarat. The NCP had asked for the Porbander seat, which Congress denied," Gujarat NCP chief Jayant Patel said.
He also accused the state Congress leaders of being hand-in-gloves with the BJP and said that they had worked behind the scenes in making BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi powerful.
