Bollywood actress Rekha took oath as a Rajya Sabha MP on Tuesday.

New Delhi: Former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh on Tuesday refused to comment on reports of SP MP Jaya Bachchan's demand to change her seat in Rajya Sabha after Bollywood actress Rekha's nomination to the Upper House, saying it was her own 'Silsila'.

Rekha took oath as a Rajya Sabha MP on Tuesday.

"I don't want to say anything on why Jaya Bachchan changed her seat. It's her own 'Silsila'. Amitabh Bachchan is my friend and have seen Rekha in his films. I congratulated her when I met her today. I don't have any personal equation with her though," Amar Singh told reporters.

The on-screen and off-screen relationship of Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha has always provided fodder to Bollywood gossip mills. The two acted in films like Do Anjaane (1976), Muqaddar Ka Sikander (1978), Mr Natwarlal (1979), Suhaag (1979) and Silsila (1981).

57-year-old Rekha was one of the top heroines of the 80s in Hindi films and had won several national awards in her acting career.
