New Delhi: There are growing voices of protest in Jammu and Kashmir against Education Minister Peerzada Sayeed after it was alleged that board officials helped his son pass his class 10 exam in 2009.
The opposition is aggressively demanding Sayeed's removal.
Independent MLA Engineer Rashid said, "I think the CM shouldn’t waste another second in asking for the resignation from Sayeed. It is not the question of what he has done it is the question that they have played with the future of thousands of students of Jammu and Kashmir. It is worse than any other scam and Chief Minister should not succumb under any compulsions."
Over the past two years, separate investigations by the Board of School Education and the state vigilance commission yielded no results, ostensibly due to pressure from Peerzada. It's fresh ammunition for the opposition to target the state government.
