New Delhi: After satyagraha, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has planned Jail Bharo agitation to get guru ji Soren out of jail.
Soren convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in the murder case of his secretary Shashinath Jha has been trying tooth and nail to resume his political career, halted due to imprisonment.
JMM leaders would launch a 'Jail Bharo' agitation after its three-day convention at Deoghar from January 27 to demand release of Shibu Soren.
“Party leaders and workers have been directed to get support of the people for the 'Fill the Jail' agitation,” said one JMM’s leader.
JMM general secretary Bidyut Baran Mahato had earlier said when Gandhiji's satyagraha had forced the British to quit the country, the party was confident that its demand for Soren's release would be heard by authorities.
Alleging that multi-national companies and the CBI had hatched a conspiracy to implicate 'Guruji', as Soren is known to his followers, in a false case, Mahato said he had opposed the forcible acquisition of tribal land in Jharkhand for development projects till a proper rehabilitation policy was framed.
