JPC won't reconsider decision to not summon PM: Chacko
PC Chacko added that the PM could be summoned before the panel only if majority of the members agreed upon it.

New Delhi: The chairman of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probing the 2G case, PC Chacko, on Tuesday said that the PM could be summoned before the panel only if the majority of the members agreed upon it. Reacting to committee member and BJP leader Yashwant Sinha's letter to the PM asking him to appear before the panel, Chacko said that no member of the committee had the right to summon anybody without taking the other panel members into confidence. "The JPC won't reconsider its decision to not summon the PM," he added.

Chacko further lambasted the opposition for its double standards, claiming that the PM had offered to appear before the Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC) "but the opposition did not accept this". "He (the PM) never promised to come before the JPC," he said.

Speaking about the progress in the case, Chacko said that the panel was working smoothly and had held 56 meetings so far. "There are no differences in the committee," he added.
