Adampur: Even though their offices are adjacent to each other in Mandi Adampur, the leaders of two major parties - Haryana Janhit Congress's Kuldeep Bishnoi and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) candidate Kulbir Singh Beniwal - are fighting against each other in the Haryana Assembly elections.
Speaking to IBNLive, INLD candidate Kulbir Singh Beniwal said, "Kuldeep Bishnoi yahan ki sabse badi samasya hai (Kuldeep Singh Bishnoi is the biggest problem of the area). He has ditched people of the area. After winning elections, he goes to Delhi and returns only after five years."
He added that the other problem of the area is water and sanitation and his party will resolve it.
When counter questioned that Bishnoi had won the seat many times, Beniwal said, "Last time Renuka won the seat as she got sympathy votes due to the death of Bhajan Lal. But this time, the party won't get any seat."
Even though INLD chief Om Prakash Chautala and his son Ajay Singh are behind bars in the teachers' recruitment scam, Beniwal seemed confident that the party will win the seat. "It was a conspiracy by the opposition parties against OP Chautala but the party will win the seat," he said.
When asked about the impact of the Modi wave in this elections, Beniwal, wjo parted ways with the Congress and joined the INLD, said, "There is no Modi wave, there is only Chaudhary OP Chautala wave."
He refused to comment on very few women candidates getting the party ticket and said, "I will only talk about Adampur."
