New Delhi: In Karnataka, the Lokayukta Court hearing cases against former state Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa is expected to pass an order on Thursday. Yeddyurappa has been charged with irregularities in the de-notification of land during his tenure as the Chief Minister.
In a setback for Yeddyurappa, the Karnataka High Court on Wednesday refused to interfere in the criminal proceedings against him. However, the Lokayukta Police gave him a clean chit in one of the private complaints against him.
The Lokayukta court is currently investigating two charges against him over illegal land denotification. Justice Anand Byrareddy dismissed the petitions after hearing the arguments of petitioner and advocate Sirajin Basha on whose private complaints the Lokayukta Court had issued summons against Yeddyurappa and 14 other accused.
