Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Monday ordered a probe into all Louis Berger contracts in the state. The probe will be into whether any out of turn contracts were awarded to Louis Berger for any big ticket infrastructure projects in Maharashtra.

Louis Berger was a consultant in the Mumbai Metro, Monorail and Navi Mumbai International Airport projects.

The Goa Police has arrested four people including former minister Churchill Alemao in Louis Berger bribery scam. Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar had on Saturday said that there was no need to hand over the case to CBI as the investigation has been moving in the right direction.

Alemao was state PWD minister when officials of the US-based company Louis Berger paid bribe to win consultancy for water augmentation and sewerage pipeline project under Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
