New Delhi: BJP on Friday said party MP Maheish Girri will "resign" if it is proved that he wrote any letter to Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung regarding civic official MM Khan who was shot dead in May.
Challenging AAP and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to produce the letter purportedly written by Girri, Delhi BJP President Satish Upadhyay said, "On behalf of Maheish Girri, I am saying he will resign if he wrote any letter."
Attacking Kejriwal over his "silence" over the death of party leader Santosh Koli and Rajasthan farmer Gajendra Chauhan, Upadhyay demanded Delhi Police expedite its investigation into suicide by the farmer in presence of AAP leaders including Kejriwal at Jantar Mantar in April, 2015.
"I will write a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for speedy police probe in the death of AAP founder-leader Santosh Koli in Ghaziabad in 2013, in which role of Kejriwal is suspected as she might have known several secrets," he alleged.
Delhi BJP also raised several questions over the alleged Rs 400 crore Delhi Jal Board tanker "scam" being probed by the Anti Corruption Branch, demanding Kejriwal's "arrest".
"I had earlier demanded Kejriwal's resignation. Now I demand Delhi Police arrest Kejriwal for an impartial probe into the tanker scam," the BJP leader said.
He asked why the government "sat over" the fact-finding committee report on the "scam" for "11 months" and allegedly continued payments to the company concerned for "17 months".
Party MP Ramesh Bidhuri said BJP workers will soon launch an agitation and run a signature campaign to "expose" wrongdoings of the AAP government.
