Migrant from JDS wins Bangalore North primaries for Congress ticket
C Narayanaswamy will now take on former chief minister and BJP leader D V Sadananda Gowda from Bangalore North seat.

Bangalore: C Narayanaswamy, who defected to the Congress from the Janata Dal Secular, has won primaries held for Bangalore North Lok Sabha seat. He defeated three other original Congress candidates including AICC spokesperson and IIM Bangalore professor M V Rajeeva Gowda, KPCC general secretary G C Chandrashekhar and former MLA N L Narendra Babu.

Narayanaswamy will now take on former chief minister and BJP leader D V Sadananda Gowda. Narayanaswamy, a local Vokkaliga leader is close to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Karnataka has seen one such experimental primary earlier in Dakshina Kannada constituency last week. Former Union Minister and veteran Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary was declared the official candidate from there.
