By-poll in Nagaland was necessitated because of the resignation of Neiphiu Rio from the Lok Sabha. Neiphiu Rio is the current Chief Minister of the state.

Nagaland People?s Front’s (NPF) CM Chang won this this seat in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections in 2014, NPF’s Neiphiu Rio emerged victorious.
Voting for the seat took place on May 28, 2018 and counting/results on May 31, 2018.
