With a day left for electioneering to end for the first phase polls in 10 Lok Sabha and 70 assembly seats in Odisha, three chief ministers on Monday extensively campaigned for their respective party candidates in Sundergarh district.
While the ruling BJD president and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik held seven back to back rallies in Sundergarh district asking people to vote for the party candidates, neighbouring Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh came down to Odissa to campaign at Talsara and other places in Sundergarh district for BJP's Lok Sabha candidate Jual Oram.
Patnaik addressed public meetings in all the seven assembly segments under Sundergarh Lok Sabha constituency. In all the places, Patnaik targeted both the Congress and BJP while highlighting achievements of his government.
"I appeal to people to vote for BJP candidate in order to establish a strong government at the Centre," Raman Singh told reporters.
Similarly, Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren also hit the campaign trail at Biramitrapur assembly segment in Sundergarh district for JMM candidate.
JMM has fielded a candidate in Mayurbhanj Lok Sabha seat and seven assembly segments in Mayurbhanj district.
While three chief ministers were busy campaigning in Sundergarh district, senior BJP leader and former BJP president Venkaiah Naidu was canvassing for his party's candidates in Rayagada, Gunpur and Paralakhemundi.
