Jammu: PDP on Tuesday accused Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of using the AFSPA issue to divert people's attention from the mysterious death of a National Conference leader.
"AFSPA issue is being used to divert attention of people from the custodial death of the NC worker," PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti told reporters in Jammu on Tuesday.
She said Omar should have taken the decision to revoke AFSPA with the consent of the Centre, coalition partner Congress and the cabinet.
Accusing BJP and Congress of remaining silent on the NC worker's dead in custody, she accused the two parties of adopting "double standards".
"BJP is making a hue and cry over Rajasthan's missing nurse case and Congress is making much noise over Yeddyurappa issue but both are silent on the NC worker's death," she said.
Meanwhile, PDP held demonstrations against the government at all district headquarters of Jammu region.
Leading the demonstration here, Mehbooba alleged that the state government has failed on various fronts.
She said the government has failed to provide regular power supply despite successful functioning of the Baglihar power project and revision in electricity rates.
