Chandigarh: After his party broke a nearly three-decade-old jinx winning the Ratia Assembly seat, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday said the people had rejected the "politics of caste, falsehood and loot".
"This is the beginning of a new chapter in Haryana's politics. People have rejected politics of caste, regionalism, falsehood, loot and corruption as propagated by the Opposition in the state," he said.
People had voted for development and policies of the Congress, Hooda told a news conference.
The Chief Minister said the Congress would hold a thanksgiving rally in Ratia on December 10.
"The INLD has been relegated as the party of the father and sons while HJC has become a party of husband (Kuldeep Bishnoi) and wife (Renuka) but the Congress party has emerged as a party of the people," Hooda said.
He said had there been no candidate from the family of late Bhajan Lal in Adampur, Congress would have certainly won that seat too as Renuka Bishnoi had got "sympathy votes."
