Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will campaign in Rae Bareli and Amethi when the election dates are declared, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said. He added that Priyanka will be asked to campaign in other places too.
The Congress on Tuesday appointed Raj Babbar as its state president in Uttar Pradesh and gave a big role to Imran Masood, the man who once went to jail for threatening to "chop Narendra Modi to pieces."
Masood, who lost the Lok Sabha polls and was jailed for making that hate speech against Modi, is now one of the four senior vice presidents of the party in UP.
The party incharge in UP, Ghulam Nabi Azad, also refused to reveal whether Priyanka Gandhi will play an active role in the UP polls. He only said she would campaign in family bastions Amethi and Rae Bareli and that she would be requested to campaign in more seats.
