Mathura: Taking a dig at BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Ajit Singh while addressing a rally in Mathura on Tuesday claimed that communal riots will take place across the country if Modi came to power.
During the rally which was also attended by Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and RLD general secretary Jayant Chaudhary, Singh said that the country does not need a dictator.
Is was the first joint rally of the two young leaders to counter the stiff challenge from BJP candidate Hema Malini in the district. Ajit Singh's son Jayant Singh is seeking his second consecutive term from Mathura.
Earlier while addressing a rally on Sunday in Aligarh, Singh had said, "Modi does not talk about forming a BJP government, but talks only about forming his government. He only speaks 'main, main, main' (I, me, myself) as if some goat has come."
