The Shiv Sena has withdrawn its call for a Maharashra shutdown on Monday.

Mumbai: The Shiv Sena has withdrawn its call for a Maharashra shutdown on Monday in view of the grim situation arising out of the terrorist attack in Mumbai.

Instead, the party would offer homage to the police officials who were martyred during the anti-terror operations since Wednesday night, Sena chief Bal Thackeray said in a statement here on Friday.

The party will also pray for the innocent people - the toll has touched 132 - who fell victim to the terror attack at 13 places in Mumbai on Wednesday night-Thursday morning.

Thackeray also paid tributes to the courage of officials like Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) Chief Hemant Karkare, Additional Commissioner of Police Ashok Kamte and Anti-Extortion Cell Chief, inspector Vijay Salaskar, and other police personnel, who laid down their lives during the anti-terror operations.
