New Delhi: Congress MP and former Union minister Shashi Tharoor was interrogated on Monday for over four hours in the Vasant Vihar police station in New Delhi by the Special Investigative Team (SIT) in the murder case of his wife Sunanda Pushkar.

Tharoor reached the SIT's office in Vasant Vihar police station around 7.30 pm and left around midnight. The police had told him about questioning on Sunday. It is not clear whether Thaoor's questioning got over for the day or it will resume again some other day.

These are some of the question s which were likely asked Tharoor. "Where were you when you received the call about Sunanda's health on January 17? How much time did you spend at the AICC meet? Did you leave the location before you got the call? How did Sunanda get those injury marks? What was the cause of fights between you and Sunanda, as stated by others? Do you suspect anyone? Did she have any personal or professional rivalry? Did she receive any threats from any one linked to IPL? Who was giving Sunanda Alprax tablets and why? Why did you tell that she had lupus and that could be the cause of death? Why did you project in the SDM report that you had a happy marriage when your domestic help says you were fighting for the past so many days?"

Before the formal questioning started, Thaoor wanted to meet senior Delhi SIT officers probing the case, sources said.

Extra force was deployed at the Vasant Vihar police station in view of the questioning.

Meanwhile, details of Sunanda's medical condition right before her death indicate that she claimed to be a patient of Lupus. She was keeping unwell for at least three months prior to her death.

The prescription of the hospital suggests that Sunanda was on a drug called Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ). It is used to treat auto immune disorders like Lupus.

These details corroborate Tharoor's claim that she was not in the pink of health before January 17, 2014. The AIIMS medical board's final report has negated the possibility of Sunanda suffering from Lupus.
