Tharoor is seeking a re-election from Thiruvananthapuram. He won the 2009 Lok Sabha polls by a wide margin.
Thiruvananthapuram: CPM general secretary Prakash Karat has attacked union minister and Congress candidate from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor.
"Thiruvananthapuram has a dubious distinction of having a minister. Dubious because after getting elected, he (Tharoor) was made a minister. But after 11 months, the PM asked him to resign due to impropriety related to the IPL business," Karat said.
The Left leader continued, "But very soon he is back in the ministry because the Congress does not care about corruption. Today we have a minister who believes that you need sweat equity for being in politics."
