UP BJP chief said, "I will be more than happy if odi contests from Lucknow seat or even anywhere from the state."

Lucknow: Dismissing all the speculations and media reports pertaining to Narendra Modi candidature for Lucknow Lok Sabha seat, Bharatiya Janata Party's Uttar Pradesh unit President Dr Laxmikant Bajpai on Monday made it clear that the top party leadership is yet to take any decision on the seat as far as Modi is concerned.

"All the reports are absolutely wrong as BJP has not taken any decision on which seat Narendra Modi will contest from," Dr Laxmikant Bajpai told News18 over the phone.

"However, I will be more than happy and welcome the party high command's decision with open arms if Narendra Modi contests from Lucknow seat or even anywhere from Uttar Pradesh," Dr Bajpai added.

Noteworthy, social media and other politically relevant corridors were abuzz with the reports that BJP's PM nominee is likely to contest Lok Sabha polls from Lucknow constituency of the politically crucial state. Uttar Pradesh accounts for 80 seats out of the 543 seats in the Lok Sabha.
