Forged papers were allegedly accepted by Mayawati government officials, leading to loss of several crores.
Lucknow: In a big political development, the Akhilesh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh has decided to set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the corruption in the construction of the parks built by former chief minister Mayawati in Noida and Lucknow.
According to a police report, the statues of elephants worth Rs 7 lakh were transported to Noida for Rs 45 lakh on paper.
It further says that the forged papers were accepted by the officials of the Mayawati government, leading to loss of several crores.
The report also said that Rs 1500 crore were spent on the construction of monuments in Lucknow and Noida.
