New Delhi: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh who is earning Opposition's wrath over alleged corruption charges, hit back at the BJP saying that its leaders were frustrated and were fabricating false stories against him.
BJP leader Arun Jaitley had yesterday accused Virbhadra of earning monetary benefits by favouring a private power company.
On the allegations leveled by the BJP, Virbhadra attacked the former saying, "They have been waging the same old issues pertaining to my income tax return and loan taken by my family, which have been replied and clarified time and again and there is nothing material or new in them." The BJP was twisting and tampering facts to suit their convenience, he added.
Virbhadra said that the BJP's allegations came in wake of the Himachal Pradesh government exposing the previous BJP CM Prem Kumar Dhumal and his sons.
He took on the BJP's attack saying, "As the Congress party and the government in the state has started to grow from strength to strength and the wrongdoings of the previous BJP government especially former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and his sons are getting exposed, personal attacks against me have grown in equal momentum and volume."
While BJP upped the ante against Virbhadra by protesting outside Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi's residence, Congress high command too demanded an explanation from him on the same. Adding to it, Arun Jaitkey has also apprised the Prime Minister of the alleged corruption charges against Virbhadra.
