Shooting For Naga Chaitanya-starrer Thandel Begins; Deets Inside

Naga Chaitanya-starrer Thandel’s shooting has begun. The makers of the film made the announcement on their official social media. Reports state that the film is being made on a pan-India level, and it is set to be directed by Chandoo Mondeti. The official X account of the film made the announcement through a tweet, which read, “Team #Thandel begins an adrenaline pumping schedule in the middle of the oceans. Shoot in progress. Exciting updates soon.” Currently, the film’s shoot is taking place in Udupi (Karnataka), as per reports. Thandel is reportedly based on true events that took place in 2018, in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh.

Thandel stars Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. Bunny Vasu is producing the film, while it is being presented by Allu Aravind. The music in the film is being composed by Devi Sri Prasad. Thandel is said to be Naga Chaitanya’s highest budgeted film till date. He is set to play a fisherman in the film.

The muhurat ceremony of the film took place earlier this month at the Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. It was attended by big names like Venkatesh Daggubati and Nagarjuna, who are Naga Chaitanya’s uncle and father respectively.

Back in November, Naga Chaitanya shared the official poster of the film on Instagram. The caption read, “A character I’m really looking forward to playing and a team I’m really fond of @chandoo.mondeti, @saipallavi.senthamarai, @ThisIsDSP and every one at @GeethaArts. Shoot begins soon.”

Naga Chaitanya is currently featuring in the horror-thriller show Dootha, which was released on Amazon Prime Video on December 1, 2023. Created and directed by Vikram K Kumar, the cast of the show includes Naga Chaitanya, Srikanth Murali, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Prachi Desai, Anish Kuruvilla, Tharun Bhascker, and others. Sharrath Marar and Vikram Kumar have produced the show under the banner of Northstar Entertainment.
