When Director Bala Called Varalakshmi Her Favourite Actress For This Reason

At an award ceremony event earlier, Bala revealed the name of his favourite actress. He shared that he has worked with only a few heroines and amongst those, actress Varalakshmi is a hardworking person. He narrated an incident from the shoot of his movie Tharai Thappattai (2016), where the villain had to trample her. He revealed that the villain was a new actor; as a director, he wanted the shot to come right. So, the actor — with all his dedication — stepped on Varalakshmi to trample her. Further, two or three takes were shot, but right in the first shot, Varalakshmi’s collar bone had cracked and she never showed it in her expression. A few days later ,the actress showed him an X-ray and it showed that her collarbone was cracked. Varalakshmi revealed that she was in a lot of pain.

Tharai Thappattai movie earned immense fame and recognition amongst the masses and critics and became the talk of the town upon its release in 2016. The musical-art film showcased every actor delivering their best.
