New Delhi: After the launch of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, Apple has now introduced its first ever smartwatch - the Apple Watch - in India. With the Watch launch happening a week ahead of Diwali, it seems that the company is aiming to cash in on the festive season.
The Apple Watch is available in two different sizes - 38 mm and 42 mm - in three collections, Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition, crafted from custom rose or yellow 18-karat gold alloys. Priced at Rs 30,900 onwards, the Watch comes in 40 different combinations.
Prices for the Apple Watch Sport (for instance, Silver Aluminium Case with White Sport Band) start at Rs 30,900 for the 38 mm case size and Rs 34,900 for 42 mm.
The Apple Watch (let's say, Stainless Steel Case with White Sport Band) is priced at Rs 48,900 for 38mm, while the price for the same variant in the 42 mm category costs Rs 52,900.
In the 38mm size, the 18-carat Rose Gold Case (with White Sport Band) costs Rs 8,20,000 for 38 mm and Rs 9,90,000 for 42 mm. The prices for the 18-carat Rose Gold go as high as Rs 14 lakh.
Apple Watch requires iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus running iOS 8.2 or later.
The company has not introduced the Hermes range, which was unveiled back in September, in India.
