Amid much speculation over the launch of Jio Fiber broadband service, state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has unveiled new broadband plans at a starting price of Rs.99. The state-run telco which has witnessed a slump in recent years has come out with four monthly plans with speeds of up to 20Mbps to woo new customers.

According to recent reports, the FTTH plans have been introduced on a promotional basis and are valid for only six months. The price slabs for these BBG ULD plans are pegged at Rs 99, Rs 199, Rs 299 and Rs 399 and the data limits range from 45 GB per month to 650 GB per month. After the Forced Usage Policy (FUP) limit is reached, the 20Mbps speed will be reduced to 1Mbps. But at midnight, it will be reset to the original speed.

After 90 days, the customers will have to pick from other plans offered by the company. Because the plans have been introduced as a promotional offer, they are being made available only to new customers. The service provider is also offering free email ids along with 1GB cloud storage. Along with this, customers will be able to avail unlimited voice-calling to BSNL and non-BSNL networks. The BBG ULD plans will be introduced across the country, except for Andaman and Nicobar islands.
