Skype glitch prevents users from making calls; working on a fix, says Microsoft

Bengaluru: Skype, Microsoft's online telephone and video service, said on Monday that some users are unable to make calls because their settings show that they and their contacts are offline, even when they are logged in.

Affected users are unable to change their status, but they can use instant messaging and Skype for Web services. "A small number of messages to group chats are not being delivered, but in most cases you can still instant message your contacts," said Skype.

Also the company alerts that any changes to your Skype account such as your Credit balance or your profile details might take a little while to be displayed..

"We're working on a fix for this issue and hope to have an update for you soon," Skype said in a blog post.
