Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 to Go on Open Sale Today; Wait for 32 GB Expected to End
While the phone comes in two variants - 16 GB (with 2 GB RAM) for Rs 9,999 and 32 GB (with 3 GB RAM) for Rs 11,999, users have been facing a tough time in buying the 32 GB model.

New Delhi: Consumers might finally be able to buy the highly awaited 32 GB version of the all-new Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 which the company has promised will be up for the open sale scheduled today.

The Redmi Note 3, which has been available only through flash sales on Amazon, will be available without pre-registration on the mi.com website at 2 pm.

While the phone comes in two variants - 16 GB (with 2 GB RAM) for Rs 9,999 and 32 GB (with 3 GB RAM) for Rs 11,999, users have been facing a tough time in buying the 32 GB model. During previous flash sales, while some prospective buyers couldn't even find the 32 GB variant listed, others said that they couldn't add the 32 GB variant to their carts.

Xiaomi India head Manu Jain, in an e-mail response to News18.com, said that the company is working hard to reach a demand-supply equilibrium, which suggests that the Xiaomi had not anticipated a huge demand for the 32 GB model beforehand.

Talking about the open sale scheduled for April 27, Jain said, "We have a significant quantity of the 3 GB + 32 GB variant for the sale on Amazon and Mi.com. I also wanted to clarify with you that the sale for April 27 is a no pre-registration sale for Mi.com. At the same time, a sale will take place on Amazon.in which requires pre-registration."

The Redmi Note 3, which happens to be the company's first phone with a fingerprint sensor, was introduced in India early March. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor (two 1.8GHz ARM Cortex A72 + four 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A53).

Other key specifications of the phone include a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080 x 1920) IPS display, 16 megapixel f/2.0 rear camera with two-tone dual-LED flash, and a 5 megapixel f/2.0 front camera.

The 4G-enabled dual-SIM phone features a hybrid dual-SIM tray, which means you can either use two SIM cards at once or one SIM or a microSD card.

The Redmi Note 3 also includes an infrared blaster, which means that it can also be used as an universal remote control.
