Anupamaa's Anuj Kapadia Aka Gaurav Khanna To Quit Rupali Ganguly Show? Rajan Shahi Answers
Anupamaa's producer, Rajan Shahi, put an end to the rumours and assured fans that Gaurav is not leaving the show.

Anupamaa is one of the top-rated television series. The show has earned widespread acclaim for its distinctive plot and the compelling on-screen chemistry between Anupamaa (Played by Rupali Ganguly) and Anuj Kapadia (Played by Gaurav Khanna). Nonetheless, recent speculations surrounding Gaurav Khanna’s departure from the show have stirred the air. The speculations reached a fever pitch until Rajan Shahi, the show’s producer, stepped forward to address the gossip.

Speaking to ETimes, Rajan Shahi put an end to the rumours and assured fans that Gaurav is not leaving the show. He said, “Not at all. The Anupamaa-Anuj relationship is one of the main tracks of the show. Gaurav did bring to my attention some reports suggesting his exit. We had a good laugh about this. The chemistry between Anuj and Anupamaa is amazing, and both actors are playing their parts well.”

In a previous interview with ETimes, Gaurav Khanna shed light on his character’s dynamics within the show. He explained that Anupamaa mirrors real-life situations, where individuals react diversely to circumstances. “Can’t a mature, understanding, calm man have an emotional outburst?” he added.

Gaurav, who portrays the lead character in the show, has a huge fan base. He shares the screen with Rupali Ganguly, who plays the role of main protagonist. However, in the current storyline, Anuj and Anupamaa have parted ways. Anuj, who is now engaged to Shruti, is on the verge of marrying her despite still having feelings for Anupamaa. Their daughter Aadhya holds resentment towards Anupamaa and opposes her re-entry into their lives. Meanwhile, Shruti, who was injured while trying to save Anupamaa in a recent incident, has returned home after surviving the ordeal.

Anupamaa is based on the Bengali show Sreemoyee, while its Marathi adaptation, Aai Kuthe Kay Karte, has also gained popularity. Apart from Rupali and Gaurav Khanna, the show also features Nidhi Shah, Aashish Mehrotra, Alpana Buch, Sudhanshu Pandey, Parakh Madan, Kunwar Amarjeet Singh, and others. Gaurav Khanna is recognised for his memorable performances as Neil in Jeevan Saathi, Inspector Kavin in CID, and Akshay in Tere Bin.
