Television actors and real-life couple Gautam Rode and Pankhuri Awasthy are currently cherishing the new phase of their lives, as they recently welcomed twins into their family. In a heartwarming video, the couple shared their journey of bringing their newborns home, where they were greeted with love and celebrations by their extended family members. Almost a month after the birth of their twins, Gautam and Pankhuri celebrated Janmashtami with a Naamkaran ceremony, during which they revealed the names of their precious children. The proud parents shared this delightful moment on Instagram, introducing their daughter as Radhya and their son as Raditya.
In the video shared by the couple, their family members were seen rejoicing at the arrival of the newest members of their family, by dancing and enjoying the moment. Following the festivities, a pooja was conducted with the entire family. For the name reveal, Gautam and Pankhuri stood before a beautifully decorated wall with white and pink balloons. A yellow board read, ‘NAAMKARAN SANSKAR.’ In a delightful moment, the couple burst the balloons to unveil the names of their beloved twins.
Sharing the meaning behind their daughter’s name, the couple wrote, “RADHYA – One who is worthy of worship. Also an endearing name for Radha who in Hinduism is revered as the Goddess of Love, Tenderness, Compassion, and Devotion. She is the incarnation of Maha Lakshmi and also is the Mulaprakriti – the Supreme goddess, the embodiment of spiritual love and Krishna’s feminine counterpart and internal potency. In Sanskrit, Her name means prosperity, success, perfection. They say, Lord Krishna enchants the world, but Radhya enchants even him.”
While their son’s name means, “RADITYA – Surya – the Sun. Ra is the ancient Egyptian deity of the Sun. One of the most important Gods in ancient Egyptian religion, Ra ruled in all parts of the created world: the sky, the earth, and the underworld. He was believed to have ruled as the first pharaoh of Egypt. He was the God of the sun, order, kings and the sky. Ra in Sanskrit means Fire and strength. Aditya refers to the offspring of Aditi, the goddess representing infinity. In Sanskrit usage, all the Vedic Adityas.”
“Raditya in old Javanese (from Indonesia) – Ra + Aditya, derived from Sanskrit words रवि + आदित्य also means Sun or the light of the Sun or Sunday – the day of the Sun. Similar to Surya or Ravi is the basis of Ravivara, in the Hindu Calendar,” Gautam Rode and Pankhuri Awasthy added.

Ever since Gautam and Pankhuri shared the post, their well-wishers expressed their love and congratulated the couple, celebrating this special moment in their lives. Gautam Rode and Pankhuri Awasthy’s love story began on the sets of Razia Sultan. However, their connection deepened when they collaborated once again for the show Suryaputra Karn in 2015. Their relationship continued to grow and the two got engaged in 2017. The following year, the talented actors tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony held at the Tijara Fort Palace in Alwar, Rajasthan.
