Amitabh Bachchan is hosting the popular quiz-based game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. The show’s 15th season premiered on August 14 on Sony TV. In the latest episode, Vishwas Tulshiram Dake, a farmer from Maharashtra, took the hot seat after answering the Fastest Finger First round in the least time among the other participants.
Amitabh Bachchan initiated the game by posing questions, and one after another, the contestants responded, occasionally seeking assistance from lifelines. After securing winnings of Rs 3,20,000, Vishwas Tulshiram Dake found himself amused as the show’s host, Amitabh Bachchan, took a peculiar approach. Bachchan licked the pen nib before writing a cheque, prompting Vishwas to inquire, “Aap aisa kyu kar rahe ho (Why are you doing so)?” In response, the legendary actor explained, “We do it like this when the pen doesn’t write properly. There is no difference between us.”
He further shared that they did such things when they were kids due to a lack of pens and financial constraints. “When we were kids, we didn’t have pens. Our Bapuji would earn Rs 300-400. From where will we get pens,” Amitabh Bachchan said.
During the conversation about earnings, Amitabh Bachchan inquired about Vishwas’s income, to which he revealed that he doesn’t earn more than Rs 2 lakh annually despite putting in significant hard work. Narrating his challenging life, Vishwas shared the adversity of losing his father during 7th standard, leading him to take up farming at a young age. Financial constraints forced him to abandon his studies before his 12th exams. Despite these hardships, Vishwas underscored the value of education, ensuring that his own children, nieces, and nephews received an education. Responding to this, Amitabh Bachchan commended Vishwas’s efforts, stating, “God will make sure you are blessed for your noble work.”
During the quiz, Vishwas used lifelines and won Rs 12,50,000. However, at the Rs 25 lakh question about a pioneering scientist who wrote an Urdu play named Karamati, Vishwas wasn’t sure of the answer. The Maharastra man decided to quit the game and took home Rs 12,50,000.
Kaun Banega Crorepati 15 is aired on Sony TV every Monday to Friday at 9 pm. The show is also available for streaming on the SonyLIV app. Notably, the format of the show has undergone modifications. A new feature called Super Sandook has been introduced, providing contestants with an opportunity to recover potential losses during the game. Another addition is the Double Dip lifeline. Additionally, an element named Desh Ka Sawal has been incorporated to enhance audience engagement and participation.
