He appeared in several popular films, including Shah Rukh Khan’s Billu, Salman Khan’s Partner, All The Best, Awarapan, Phir Hera Pheri and Khichdi, among others. Following the news of his passing, fans, friends, and colleagues from the industry took to social media to express their condolences.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Arjun Kapoor wrote, “I never had a chance to work him, but he always seemed to be such a likeable person no matter what role he played. He was taken by Cancer despite fighting the disease for many years. May his soul rest in peace.”
Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde, wrote, “The untimely passing of the versatile actor Atul Parchure is deeply painful for fans who have seen him make them laugh heartily at times and bring tears to their eyes at others. He has had a brilliant acting career that began on the children’s theater stage. He made a significant impact in theater, film and television alike. Whether in plays like Tarun Turk, Mhatara Ark or Natik Goti, or through the clever wordplay of P. L. Deshpande, Atul Parchure infused deep colors into his performances with his innate talent.”
“He also portrayed remarkable characters in both Marathi and Hindi films. With his departure, Marathi theater has lost a classic actor, a loss that is irreplaceable. As one of his thousands of fans, I share in the grief of his family. May God grant them the strength to endure this sorrow. On behalf of the state government, I offer my heartfelt tribute,” the CM mentioned.
Remembering the late Atul Parchure, actress Supriya Pilgaonkar shared, “Dear friend, it shouldn’t have been this way. You fought so much. You endured so much. Your absence will always be felt. The memory of your playful laughter will always remain. May your soul find peace, and may your family have the strength to bear this sorrow.”
Renuka Shahane shared a recent picture with Atul Parchure and wrote, “Atul Mitraa.”
Sachin Pilgaonkar added, “The pain of losing an artist and friend like Atul Parchure is very distressing; we will never be able to forget him.”
In a July interview with Bombay Times, the actor revealed that coming to terms with his cancer diagnosis was not overly difficult for him, as he had sensed that something was wrong with his health. Despite his efforts to maintain a positive outlook during this challenging period, he faced anxiety stemming from a lack of work, which resulted in many sleepless nights.
