Haemorrhoids are a medical condition that causes swollen veins in the rectum and it could be painful even leading to bleeding in extreme cases. Usually, treatments for haemorrhoids involve taking warm baths, applying ointments and taking enough rest. Many people, suffering from this condition, may not feel comfortable talking about it.
It could also be embarrassing to seek leave from office for suffering from haemorrhoids or piles. This was not the case for an employee who dealt with the uncomfortable situation in a quite bizarre manner.
When the manager asked the employee for medical proof of suffering from haemorrhoids, the employee did something quite unexpected.
As reported by Times Now, revealing details in a Reddit post, the employee said, “I called out today because I have haemorrhoids and cannot stand for any amount of time. My manager said I need to send him proof, so I sent him a pic of my a*** with the haemorrhoids,”
The employee was also concerned about the repercussions for possible violation of company rules.
“Now, thinking about it, I’m not sure if I broke any company rules or laws by sending him the picture (that he asked for). Will I be in trouble with HR or the police if he tells them?” the post added.
The social media post has also now stirred a debate about leave conditions in companies, with many users sharing their experience of various situations pertaining to seeking permissions for leaves.
Not too long ago, another odd conversation between a manager and an employee went viral. A now-deleted snapshot of the discussion was uploaded on a Reddit post where the manager was seen informing the employee that a sick leave must be requested seven days in advance.
The screenshot revealed that the employee had asked his manager for a day off because he was feeling ill. In response, the manager says, “To take sick leave or casual leave you need to inform at least 7 days prior,” leaving the internet in confusion. “How to know if I am going to be sick in the next 7 days? (NOC)” read the side note.
