A Pakistani singer-YouTuber recently posted a music video on the internet in which he strongly criticised the government for not being able to develop the nation. The song Bill Bill Pakistan by Aun Ali Khosa held the government responsible for the current challenges that the people of the region are enduring. Although the song became well-known and was praised by the public, the authorities were apparently disappointed. Now, in an unexpected turn of events, Khosa is said to be kidnapped by a gang of armed men in Lahore.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the police to locate Khosa by August 20, according to Dawn. The news outlet was able to view a copy of the plea that the YouTuber’s wife Binish Iqbal submitted at the LHC on August 15, alleging that her husband was “in the unlawful and illegal custody of the law enforcement authorities”. Iqbal expressed her concern for Khosa’s safety, stating that she did not know where he was and that she had a strong suspicion that he had been the victim of an enforced disappearance.
According to the petition, a group of eight to 10 men forced their way into his home and took his personal gadgets, including his phone, computer and camera. They shoved him into the Black Vigo that was parked outside the flat and manhandled him before running away. It also stated that the petitioner had questioned the men repeatedly about why they were taking him, but they had refused to answer and fled.
The news was shared by Aun Ali Khosa’s brother, Ali Sher Khosa, on X. He urged everyone to share the information and pleaded that they pray for Aun Ali’s recovery.
AOA everyone, today in the middle of the night my Brother @aun_khosa has been taken into custody by some unknown armed men from his Flat in Lahore. Kindly pray for him. Do spread the word as it will mean a lot to our Family #releaseAunAliKhosa pic.twitter.com/tBaIPTOa48— Ali Sher Khosa (@SheruzWorld) August 15, 2024
In another X post, Ali Sher denied rumours that his family was “receiving threats”. “This is fake news! Please stop spreading it. We have not received any threat calls from anyone,” he said.

According to an update on the matter on August 18, Ali Sher posted a photo of himself with Aun Ali and declared his return. “Alhamdulillah, my big brother @aun_khosa (sic), a comedian turned hero, is back!” he said.

Who is Aun Ali Khosa?
With more than 1,48,000 YouTube followers, Aun Ali Khosa became well-known for his comedic vlogs and skits. Aun Ali, who grew up in Lahore, launched his YouTube account in 2017 and posted videos discussing societal concerns facing Pakistan. He also makes parodies of popular TV series like Kaun Banega Crorepati and everyday life.
His satirical song Bill Bill Pakistan recently attracted attention since it both emphasised the hardship of exorbitant electricity bills on the general population and focused on the corrupt government of the nation. The song struck a chord with many Pakistanis, particularly considering that it was released near Independence Day.
The song begins with the words, “Aisi zameen aur aasman. Iss passport pe mein jaau kaha (How am I going to be able to travel with this kind of passport)?” Khosa wrote the song, in which he and Abubakar Khalil performed together. The song was a creative parody of the famous patriotic song Dil Dil Pakistan, originally sung by the late Junaid Jamshed.
