He even bowed down in front of other idols present in the temple.

The Internet is back with another mind-boggling video, leaving its users confused. The clip that recently surfaced online shows a thief entering a temple and stealing Lord Shiva’s serpent. What left many stunned was the thief’s act before he took the serpent statue along with him. Yes, it is no ordinary case of theft. The man, before stealing the valuable item, worshipped the idol. He even bowed down in front of other idols present in the temple. The incident, which took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, has been recorded on a CCTV camera of the temple. The video begins with the man entering the temple with a bag in his hands. He, then, folded his hands to pray in front of all the idols present in the temple.

As we move forward, the man sits down placing his bag on the floor beside Shivling. In a fraction of a second, he gets up and walks out of the temple to check if someone is visiting the temple or not. Once he is assured of his safety, he swiftly steals the serpent statue from shivling and takes it away with him in his bag.

As the video caught the attention of the police officials, they intervened to assure everyone that legal action will be taken against the concerned person.

This is not the first time that such a strange incident of theft has been reported. Earlier in September 2023, a man in the Kaushambi district in Uttar Pradesh made headlines for stealing a Shivling from a temple. The reason why he proceeded with the theft may shock you. He decided to steal the revered idol as his prayer for marrying the woman of his choice was not fulfilled. As per the locals, the man named Chhotu used to visit the Shiva temple every morning as he believed that divine intervention would help him persuade his parents to his marriage to the woman. Following the theft, police arrested the man and recovered the stolen shivling.
