Chhattisgarh Woman Seeks PMO's Intervention After Drunk Soldier Urinates on Train Seat
A woman from Chhattisgarh recently alleged that a drunk soldier urinated on a train's seat, leaving her wet.

In an unfortunate incident aboard the Gondwana Express, a woman has reported an unsettling experience involving an army personnel allegedly urinating onto her berth while she was asleep. The incident reportedly occurred in the B-9 coach en route from Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin station to Chhattisgarh’s Durg.

Within the coach, berth number 24 was occupied by an allegedly intoxicated soldier who, in a state of unconsciousness, urinated onto the upper berth. Regrettably, the liquid seeped onto the woman occupying berth number 23, who was accompanied by her 7-year-old child. Upon discovering the distressing situation, the woman promptly informed her husband, Himachal Singh, who subsequently lodged a complaint with the Railway Helpline.

Despite the quick complaint, the response from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) fell short. Upon reaching Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior, RPF personnel attended to the complaint, documenting the scene, but departed without further action. Subsequently, at Jhansi, a joint team comprising RPF, Government Railway Police (GRP), and MCAO personnel boarded the train, assuring further steps would be taken at Lalitpur. However, the journey proceeded without any measures taken against the soldier.

Sanjay Arya, the RPF officer in charge, acknowledged the incident, confirming the soldier’s intoxication and wet pants. However, Arya justified the lack of action, citing the inability to locate the female complainant on seat number 23 in the B-9 coach upon the RPF’s arrival, resulting in the soldier remaining on the train.

Expressing dismay over the RPF’s inaction, the woman lodged an online complaint with the PMO and railway minister. In response, a TOI report suggests that RPF officials clarified that while they responded to the complaint, they were unable to locate the woman in her designated seat. Additionally, they noted finding the soldier asleep and in an “intoxicated” state.
