Did Nostradamus Predict Japan Earthquake On January 1?
On January 1, 2024, a Mw7.5 earthquake struck 7 km north-northwest of Suzu, located on the Noto Peninsula of Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan.

As we continue to expand civilization, the change in the environment is inevitable. With every passing year, we are achieving new heights in the world of science and technology. But in parallel, the advancements have been gradually taking a toll on Mother Nature, leading to climate change. As we have already rung in the year 2024, the people in the world need to come together to address the issues of global warming for a better future. Nostradamus, a French astrologer hailing from the 16th century, made some early predictions about how this year would go. One of his predictions seems to have already turned true on the very first day of 2024.

Nostradamus made the predictions way back in 1555 and all of them were documented in his historic text, Les Prophéties (The Prophecies). Also popular as ‘the prophet of doom’, the Frenchman has told about the future in the form of 942 verses.

Some of his predictions have already come true, with people believing Nostradamus could foresee tragic events like the 9/11 terrorist attacks or the COVID-19 pandemic. For 2024, the French astrologer predicted that the year would encounter a massive natural disaster as the earth would turn drier, leading to life-threatening floods.

“The dry earth will grow more parched, and there will be great floods when it is seen,” Nostradamus wrote in The Prophecies. According to his believers, the prediction actually referred to the devastating earthquake that shook Japan on January 1.

The seismic event transpired along the Western Coast of the Asian country and the tremor had a magnitude of 7.6. As per several media reports, a total of 48 people lost their lives due to the earthquake, which was followed by 3-foot-high tsunamis. Since Japan encountered the catastrophic tsunami in 2011, the nation has kept itself ready for any sort of similar occurrence.

The Earthquake Early Warning System of Japan alerted residents way before the earthquake would rock the coastal area. Every phone rang with an urgent alert, followed by three beeping noises with a rapid notification highlighting the word “earthquake”. Many residential and commercial buildings collapsed during the earthquake, with the government deploying more than one thousand rescuers to look out for victims.
