Navratri, the vibrant nine-day festival dedicated to Goddess Durga, is in full swing. This joyous occasion celebrates the goddess’ victory over the demon king Mahishasura. Devotees across the world honour the goddess through prayers and festivities, with each day dedicated to one of her nine powerful forms. This year, the festival kicked off on October 3 and will wrap up on October 12.
An exciting part of Navratri is the daily colour associated with each day, which carries special meaning. Wearing the corresponding colour is believed to bring blessings and good fortune. Recently, an adorable video has surfaced online where an elderly woman is seen donning sarees based on the colour for each day of the festival.
The viral footage was shared by Lalitha Narayanaswami, affectionately known as Paati (Granny). In the clip, she embraces all nine vibrant colours of the festival. She effortlessly showcases each colour with utmost ease, everything from the timeless pairing of green and red to a stunning royal blue saree.
In her caption, mentioning colours for the nine days of Navratri, Lalitha wrote, “Happy Navratri to all my children & grandchildren! God bless you all with health, wealth & prosperity! May all the virtues of Nav Durga (9 durga avatars) be with you, always! Yours lovingly, Paati (granny).”
