When nothing seems to help and heartache starts consuming every aspect of existence, words have the power to provide comfort to the affected individual. A similar incident happened with a 20-year-old girl who experienced a brutal heartbreak. Any guesses who turned her healing balm? It was her father and his comforting words that offered solace to the girl.
Fallon Thompson, a resident of the US state of Texas, recently shared screenshots of a lengthy message that she received from her father after her breakup. In her post, she shared that her father Scott Thompson, stood witness to her breakup from a distance as her boyfriend ended the relationship in her own driveway. She captioned her post, “POV (Point of view): You just got dumped in your driveway and your dad saw the whole thing.”
Conveying to his daughter that every trial and tribulation was ‘worth it’, Scott recounted his past experiences of romantic pursuits which ultimately took him to Fallon’s mother.
To help his daughter cope, Scott wrote in his message, “What you are dealing with today is necessary in order for you to one day be able to discern when a person is really right for you.”
Some of the passages resonated deeply with netizens. For instance, he wrote, “Even though at the time I was heartbroken, and it felt like I would never recover, and I was destined to be alone. I promise you, that is not your future.”
He continued, “When someone lets you know that you are not for them, deal with the pain and hurt with the knowledge that this person just gave you back the most valuable thing in the world — your time.” In the end, the man tells his daughter to be the bull adding that she is strong enough to endure the pain.
Upon the post being shared, it immediately went viral among users who had their hearts melting over the wholesome incident.
