Ever wondered what you would stumble upon if you went through your grandparents’ old cupboard or trunk? A woman made an unexpected discovery when she came across her late grandmother’s hidden diary, which included some secrets. Natalie Carlo Magno revealed that she came to know a lot of details about her own life through the diary in which her grandmother documented episodes in her own life focused around her.

Natalie posted a few pages of the journal to Instagram, which were then reposted on the Good News Movement handle. The contents of this journal elicited strong reactions from users. The first page shared reads, “Natalie is one week today and all is well.”In the next few pages, she discovered more heartwarming words, including a secret shared between them. The next page reads, “Today you and I have a secret. You took 6 steps all alone. We can’t tell Mommy or Daddy. They have to be the first ones to see you walk. You are a lucky little one – everybody loves Natalie.” The following page reveals that eventually the parent found out and called the grandparent to witness Natalie walking.

In another note, the grandmother wrote that she wished her mother could have seen Natalie. Further, she wrote that once Natalie came into her life, she fell under the “grandmother effect” and simply could not imagine a life without her. She also wrote about one of Natalie’s birthdays, where she thoroughly enjoyed herself. Moving on, she wrote about the first kiss she gave her grandfather.

Internet users were simply in awe of the gesture. A user wrote, “What a treasure to find, but also a treasure of a human being.”

Another shared a similar experience and commented, “I found the same last week. My mom, who died when I was still in school, wrote a diary for me over the span of my first 5 years. It was like finding my mom alive again, it’s time travel, it’s a treasure.”

A user was not only impressed by the grandmother’s gesture but also by her neat handwriting: “Her cursive is just beautiful…Grandmas are such treasures.”

Another took inspiration and said, “I love this idea. I’ll be having my first grandchild in July. I’m going to do this for her. I especially love the one where she began to walk and kept it secret. I remember my son was delayed with walking and the sitter told me he began walking.”
