But do you know, that Heera Mandi still exists today? Recently, a digital content creator shared a clip of the bustling Heera Mandi located in Lahore, Pakistan on Instagram. Today, it appears like any other vibrant market, bustling with the sale of everyday goods in a video.

The viral clip shows a bustling market with local street vendors selling tea, pakora, and nuts. It also features architectural marvels of ancient times with home decor shops. This place is now famous for Haveli, a restaurant in Lahore. In the video, the place can be seen crowded. This video was shared on an Instagram account named @minahilaliwattoo. Sharing the video, the user wrote, “This one’s for all my Indian Friends who are currently binge-watching @heeramandinetflix on @netflix_in and are curious about where it was in real life in Lahore.”

The user also shared the slower version of Heera Mandi. The video features the beauty of the history of Androon Lahore (then a part of Heeramandi). She wrote a long caption describing the current scenario of the Heera Mandi which is now a tourist spot. The caption also stated, “Heeramandi does not exist anymore and is now a touristy spot with shops and restaurants. It was demolished years ago and prostitution is illegal in Pakistan according to Offence of Zina (Enforcement of Hudood) Ordinance, VII of 1979.”
