Dance trends and spontaneous public shows of unique choreography are becoming more popular these days. People choose strange settings to show off their talents, such as bridges, trains, and, of course, the street. Recently, a video surfaced on social media of a group of women dancing to the song Zaalim by Badshah, Payal Dev, and Nora Fatehi on the streets of Kolkata. While such impromptu performances on the street have become common, the internet has diverse views on the clip.
In the video, a group of women can be seen going across a pedestrian crossing at an intersection in Golpark, Kolkata, as vehicles wait behind them at the signal. The gang quickly breaks into dance to Zaalim and moves out soon enough. The caption stated, “Creating chaos and memories at every signal! Can you discern the police jeep behind us?”

Most people disapproved of this sudden performance in the middle of the road. A user stated, “Kolkata traffic police wants to know your location.”
While many people requested the authorities to take action. “Kolkata Police please kindly look into this matter,” said one and another stated, “Chalan Katoo.” An agitated user wrote, “Mein helmet na pehnu tow case ajata hai aur idhar inko dekho koi.”
An individual shared, “Today’s generation and their need for validation from social media.” Some also reacted that even their performance was not up to the mark. A user commented, “Are you guys serious? Do Better please. Don’t embarrass yourself in the name of content.” A user quipped, “Now I know the reason why I reached office late that day.”

Another recent incident occurred inside the Delhi Metro which piqued the internet’s interest, provoking heated emotions from social media users as a result of a woman’s conduct within the metro. A viral video shows the woman performing twerking, belly dancing, and other dance sequences in front of many passengers. The videos, posted on Instagram, show the woman kneeling on the subway floor and grooving inside the nearly empty coach to the beat of a Bhojpuri song. Reportedly, the video breaches a series of warnings given by the DMRC regarding such actions inside metro trains. Social media users reacted to the video by condemning the woman.
