A user wrote, “All our mons went disha hara after hearing this.” An account remarked, “Seems like the song is just made to be played with tabla… beautiful cover.” A user, beaming with pride, said, “Being a Bengali, I can feel the beauty of this combination.”

Originally crooned by Swanand Kirkire, Amitabh Bhattacharya and Amit Trivedi, ‘Monta Re’ blends Bengali folk with contemporary lyrics, creating a charming melody. Nikhil’s latest version adds a layer of fresh vigour, keeping the essence of the original intact while showcasing his unique talent.

However, this is not the only rendition that has struck the right chords with the listeners. Recently, music composer Bharat Goel, known for making unique rendition of songs, has earned praise from music maestro AR Rahman for making a reimagined version of Agar Tum Saath Ho song from the film Tamasha. The original song featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone was given a fresh twist by Bharat using a vocal clip from Arijit Singh, who sang a few lines during a media event.

The musician expertly blended Arijit’s raw vocals with flute and keyboard, giving a new life to the soulful tune. Rahman, impressed by the track, shared it on his Instagram, providing Bharat’s composition a major boost. The video went viral on social media and quickly became one of the most watched reels with over 1.5 million views.
