Cakes are popular with people of all ages, and chefs have come up with some wonderful designs. One example is hyper-realistic cakes, which appear incredibly lifelike. At first glance, it’s difficult to determine if it’s a real thing or a delicious dessert. Recently, a similar cake wonder was presented by Amaury Guichon, a French-Swiss pastry maker, who is well-known for crafting some notable hyper realistic cakes. This time, the pastry chef decided to go down the nostalgic route and recreate a stationery set. Amaury made huge pencil- and sharpener-shaped cakes.
The video starts with him constructing the hexagonal body of a pencil out of frozen chocolate ganache. After pasting the sides together, he applied spray food colouring to give it a bright yellow tint. To make it look more lifelike, the chef used stencils to paint the name on top of the pencil’s body as seen on the real stationery. Later the chef also added black edible liquid to make the tip of the pencil. He then used melted chocolate to attach all of the components.
Moreover, he used frozen chocolate ganache to create the pencil’s head, which has the eraser. The chef painted it silver to give it a fully realistic appearance. To make the eraser, he blended raspberry jelly with white frosting to achieve the bubblegum pink tint. He then dipped a flawlessly eraser-shaped chocolate ganache in the concoction. Finally, he built a gigantic sharpener and coated it silver to make it appear realistic. In the caption, the chef wrote, “Chocolate Pencil & Sharpener! This one is for everyone who used to chew their pencil as a kid!”
