Content creators on YouTube are always seen pushing the boundaries and trying something new to attract viewers. One such creator, known by the nickname ‘jack a snacks’, has awed viewers with his extreme hike through The Strid, which is also known as the ‘most dangerous river’ in the world.

Part of the River Wharfe in West Yorkshire in England, The Strid is a particularly thin channel into which many people have drowned. Due to its rapid water flow, and various underwater obstacles, the shallow appearance of the river may mislead people into taking a swim.

The Strid is infamous for its deadly condition that have often led to mishaps.

In a video from 2021, jack a snacks decided to dive and place an underwater camera into The Strid. His goal? Let the audience surf through the concealed world and give an up-close look to this mysterious river.

In this challenging adventure, Jack did quite a lot to prepare. He took his time to study everything about the river including past accidents and safety measures he could use to complete the challenge successfully.

Once it had been set up, Jack lowered his camera into the water and gave the viewers a good look at what it was like under The Strid. “The noises it makes are terrifying." As it reaches near about 3 feet deep, the YouTuber says “It’s chaos down there".

Jack then said he had to restart the recording from scratch because he almost lost his camera while trying to shoot on the first attempt. About an hour and a half into filming, he was struggling against the current, attempting to prevent it from pulling the camera away.

The near bank fades out on the right side of the shot as the camper gets deeper into the river and the entire scene blacks out. “You can see a cliff edge emerge here, waiting to pull you beneath it," Jack says.

The video depicted the flow of the river, the big and small rocks, and the unpredictable currents.

People got to witness such an enthralling sight that illustrates both the serene and the severe side of the waters.

The video has raked up over 5 lakh views so far.
