Delhi's hunger will see them through: Sangakkara
Sangakkar doesn't put it past Delhi to upset Jaipur's applecart.

Mumbai: The first semi-final of the IPL will be keenly followed by other semi-finalists. And Kumar Sangakkara of the Kings XI Punjab told CNN-IBN that he wouldn’t put it past Delhi Daredevils to upset Rajasthan Royals’ applecart.

Sangakkara said that his side didn’t have any preference over facing either of the two sides, and maintained that to win the tournament they would have to beat anybody.

“It really doesn’t matter who goes through to the final from the other side because at the end of the day, if you are going to win the tournament, you have to beat all the teams,” the Sri Lankan vice-captain said.

The dashing wicketkeeper-batsman, however, was skeptical of Rajasthan’s move to rest three of their main players during the final league engagement between the two sides, which saw Punjab comprehensively beat Rajasthan.

“I’m not really sure how Rajasthan will recover from their defeat against us in the final league game when they rested three key players. Sometimes it might be hard to come straight after a loss in the semi-finals,” he added.

But Sangakkara did reveal a favourite, saying that Delhi’s form and hunger for the big match after having to wait for other results to decide their fate will see them home.

“Delhi are on a roll. They have been waiting for this opportunity after they had to wait for Mumbai to lose and then wait for Chennai to win over Deccan Chargers.

“I think Delhi’s momentum is just right to put in a winning performance in the semi-finals. They said that they had been waiting for the opportunity after they had to rely on other results.

“Now that they are here, and they look very hungry. At the end of the day, for Delhi, if their top order fires, that’s when they do well,” he concluded.
